Tips
If possible:
- Don't worry!
- Talk to your doctor.
- If you cover your bed with so-called encasings (intermediate covers for mite allergy sufferers) with a doctor's prescription, some supplementary insurances pay part of the costs.
- Wash bed linen regularly at min. 60°(if possible higher).
- Wash pillows and blankets every 2-3 months at 60° .
- Have mattress dry cleaned 1 time a year. Change mattress after about 8 years.
- Dampen floors and remove dust from furniture with damp cloths.
- Keep room temperature in bedroom at 18°-20° and humidity at about 45%-50%.
- Ventilate 2-3 times per day for 5-10 minutes.
- Generally avoid plants in the bedroom. These increase the humidity.
- For children's rooms, wash stuffed animals regularly or place them in the freezer for 24 hours.
- Avoid carpets in the bedroom and upholstered furniture.
- Do not put worn clothes on the bed.
